Industry: Locomotive/Electronics
The Client
Bohr Electronics, a supplier to the rail industry, came to Foam Tec for a simpler packaging solution for their refurbished electronic components. Their existing packaging process required excessive materials and took too long to assemble, slowing down their shipping team. They need a custom solution that would improve efficiency while still protecting complex, non-standard products during transit.
The Approach
Foam Tec worked closely with Bohr Electronics to design a fully custom foam packaging solution. Our designer visited the customer onsite to understand their packing process and requirements. Product samples were reviewed and documented, and a custom foam endcap design was created using carefully selected materials for protection and ease of use.
Prototypes were created, test-fit, and provided for customer validation using Bohr's internal testing process.
The Result
The final solution reduced packaging materials, improved protection, and significantly sped up the packing process. Bohr Electronics approved the design, placed a p urchase order, and is now expanding custom packaging across additional product lines.
